Conventional Timber Dryer - HOT WATER HEATED TIMBER DRYER
Hot water heating without presuure, in an open system with venting, is similar to heating using a water kettle. It is very safe, economical to run and very easy to operate. Unlike the steam system where water has to be replenished hourly due to flash steam and condensate loss, the water is circulating in the system without evaporation loss. Chemical treatment is only required when fresh water is put into the system , to remove dissolved oxygen and to reduce the hardness.
The water ia heated typically to 95oC, With a good finned tube heat exhanger having enough heat exchange surface, the dryer can attain a temperature of at least 70oC.For drying timber like Teak, Meranti , Oak and Mahogany and other difficult to dry timber, hot water heating is ideal.
